A bit of background ….

Left: The Winuwuk Kennels used to be located on the banks of the River Frome, in Gloucestershire. Right from the start, Marion and Ivor always welcomed young helpers into their home, often sharing their dogs with them. Julie Brown and Tim Hutchings arrived at Winuwuk barely into their teens and for the last 40 years or so they have been an integral part of the kennel, as full partners in the affix. Sadly Ivor died in September 2000 and Marion died in May 2010, but the Winuwuk name goes on with Julie and Tim - just as Ivor and Marion wanted. |

Marion and Ivor soon noticed that great results could be achieved by mating Back in Town daughters to Baron and this combination produced their first record breaker, Ch. Winuwuk Good Golly. Golly won 25 CCs and 22 Reserve CCs and she was a two-time winner of the prestigious Champion of Champions trophy. For many years she held the record as the Top Winning Brindle Bitch of all time.

In the early 80s we purchased a handsome Baron grandson who quickly became Ch. Wrencliff Flying Scotchman of Winuwuk. Scotty was our first Championship Show Group Winner and he lies behind the many Champions that have done so well for us ever since. His most famous daughter was our Ch. Roamaro Scotch Mist of Winuwuk who was one of the world's greatest ever Boxers. Misty's outstanding breed type appealed to a very wide cross section of judges and she won 36 CCs over eight years, awarded by breed specialists and all-rounders both from the UK and overseas. She was a multiple Group winner and the highlight of her career was being awarded Reserve Best in Show from over 13,000 dogs at the LKA Championship Show under the world-renowned American judge, Anne Rogers Clark. |
Misty won the Champion of Champions trophy twice and, thanks to her many winning children, she also won many Top Dam awards. She has Champion children in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. She took over Golly's record as the Top Winning Brindle Bitch of all time and then she became the Top Winning Brindle ever and the runner up to the Breed record holder, records she held until her death. |

In 2003 the Winuwuk Boxers moved house and the Boxers now live at Winuwuk Cottage in Berkeley with Julie and Tim.

In 2004 Marion had her 80th birthday and the partners celebrated with a very successful night at the Annual Boxer Event where they collected an armful of the coveted British Boxer Club ‘Boscars’ awards. Marion was also honoured with a prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Misty really did lay the foundations for the large number of champions who then followed, culminating in marvellous Max, the breed record holder who set records in the breed and group rings which even we thought were impossible. His two group wins at Crufts are very special memories for us

Overall, the last few years have been phenomenally successful for the Winuwuk Boxers and in the last decade our Boxers have won all of the major awards in the UK, most of them on multiple occasions. We are also now the top winning Boxer kennel of all time in the UK, having owned/bred/campaigned more UK champions than anyone else.
